This production of Weird Romance was set during the future year of 2050, 100 years after 1950 as a nod to the story being heavily influenced by 1950s and 60s Science Fiction movies. The majority of the costumes are influenced my modern interpretations of what the future might looks like such as Halo; Detroit Becoming Human; and Tron. I sought to show what clothing could look like in the not too distant future if the public was ruled by the high fashion industry and corporate aesthetics. For the in universe celebrities of the show, Zanth and Shanara, I based their designs more off modern high fashion and the 1950s-60s interpretation of the future. The main lead of the show however, Delphi, was based off the retro bombshell look to set her apart from the rest of the cast.
